Roll up your sleeves and get ready to squish, swirl, and stamp your way into the magical world of printmaking! In this playful, hands-on class, young artists will explore a delightful variety of printmaking techniques — from the swirling elegance of Suminagashi (floating ink), to the fishy fun of gyotaku (fish prints!), to gel plate monoprints, stamping, and more.
Each session, we’ll dive into a new inky experiment using all kinds of inks/paints, papers, textures, and tools. Students will: create mesmerizing marbled papers, print with rubber fish (yes, really!)
, get gloriously messy, and stamp with surprising stuff
to make one-of-a-kind masterpieces.
This is a process-focused class — perfect for curious creators who love to experiment, explore, and get a little messy in the name of art. No experience necessary — just bring your imagination! Basic overhead apron style smocks will be provided, but will not completely protect clothing.
